My approach to therapy is humanistic and responsive to the affects of trauma. My experience is especially with young adults and adolescents in university, residential, and outpatient settings. I have worked extensively with survivors of physical and sexual violence, sexual assault, and those who suffer from stigma and marginalization due to sexual orientation, gender, race, ethnicity, and religion.
I received my clinical training at the University of Chicago and advanced training in client-centered psychotherapy through the Barbara Temaner Brodley Fellowship Program at Chicago Counseling Associates. Past work with students at UIC, the University of Chicago, and Cornell informs my current practice. In a former life, I studied German literature at Princeton (BA) and the University of Chicago (PhD). My training in literature and the arts enriches my therapeutic approach, which is actively interested in human diversity and the plurality of experience.
